Something new I learned today about Spinach

Did you know that Spinach likes the colder environment? Another great thing about this plant is that it can be directly grown grown in your Tower Garden.

Picked up some more great seedlings beside the spinach at the Complete Transformation Party I went to today.

The kids like to make salads so I got some more lettuce.

And some Kale for my smoothies.

Looking forward to some great salads with the meals and tasty smoothies.

Winter Crop

Cleaned up our Tower Garden for a new harvest in the winter months. Letting it run for a day to remove chlorine from the water. Great thing about the water running is it keeps the critters away and it is nice to relax by after a day of work.

What do you think we should plant?

Today's Harvest

The Cherry Tomatoes are ready! Best thing about them is how great they taste. "Just like eating candy" was how one of my family members described it.

Tower Garden update from Hans & Darrolyn's House...

Below are some photos from when Hans first placed his seedlings in the Tower Garden..

The photo below shows how much growth they have had.

Here are some close up photos of those Cherry Tomatoes.

Can't wait to those ripen, because I know with Han's professional background in landscape and gardening, they will be the best tasting Cherry Tomatoes in San Clemente.

Morning update...

Checking out the Tower Garden this morning to what was available to add to tonight Tri-Tip Roast dinner. The first thing I saw was the Bell Peppers. Looks like they are ready to be picked, sliced up and added to the Tri-Tip on the grill.

Next thing to add is some more Cherry Tomatoes to our salad.

Then we have a Zucchini too. Have you ever had you kids fight over who is going to get the last serving of vegetables? This is one of the vegetables that my kids can never get enough on their plates.

Tomato Update

Just checked on the Cherry Tomatoes. There are looking good. I gave the fist on to Melissa and she said it was delicious!

The Bell Peppers are looking good too.

I also learned something about a new strawberry I tried growing this year. The Sequoia Strawberries did not grow as big as I thought they would. But, the are delicious.

Doug & Tracy's Tower Garden

Called my brother today to see how his garden was doing, he sent me a photo of it.

One nice thing about the location of his Tower Garden is that it is very close to the kitchen and they will never get their feet dirty harvesting items from their garden.

High Noon

Stopped at lunch to check what's happening in the backyard.

Here are two view of our Tower Garden. If you have a small space and want a garden, this is a great option.

Picked some more Zucchini and found a bee helping me make some.

The lettuce keeps growing and we are getting more creative with what we add to them.

I have also been walking in the backyard and enjoying the fresh parsley. It's also great to add to my vegetable smoothies.

And that Water Melon is looking good...

They a been creating some great salads with the gourmet  lettuce from their Tower Garden. The dark leaves add a nice touch to the salads.

Soon they will be adding tomatoes too.

Their cilantro looks fantastic!

Han's is also growing some beans too.

Dinner Tonight

Tonight was my night to make dinner. My daughter, Alison and I went to the market and got some fish. The fish we selected is called Swain.

It is a fresh water fish. I light up the BBQ and let it warm up as I prepared some Zucchini and lettuce from our Tower Garden to have with dinner. The fish was seared on both sides for about a minute and then I wrapped it in foil with a little butter and lemon wedges.

Alison selected a great Balsamic dressing to go with the salad.

Little butter with the Zucchini.

We have a few bread lovers, so I also got some bread and warmed it up in the oven.

The Balsamic dressing was great with the salad and the bread was great for making sure nothing was wasted.

Kids came home from Water Polo practice and we had a great dinner!

Water Melons

Went out and checked on the Tower Garden this morning. Added some water to and trimmed some of the plants.

The Cherry tomatoes should do better now in with the direct sunlight. A large Zucchini  leaf was blocking some of the sunlight.

The Bell Pepper is getting larger too.

And I now have two Water Melons growing.

Know my family is going to love eating these.

A few of you have asked about where they could learn more about the Tower Garden so I waned to give you the link to my web site:
